I love to take pictures of iris. I never had paid too much attention to them before I started taking pictures of them this year. All of my dark purple ones have opened and now the lighter colors are just starting. This light purple one opened today. It was so windy that I had to hold it still to take a picture.
Had to go get a huge filling this afternoon. Felt terrible when we got home. Managed to make grilled cheese sandwiches on homemade whole wheat bread with baked beans right out of the can for supper. Sat down to watch American Idol, then I felt better. Most of the numbness has finally worn off.
My city daughter called and needs me to come tomorrow. The baby isn't feeling very good. Probably a virus or allergies. One of the teenagers down the street has been helping her, but a sick baby is a lot of responsibility.
Here is a picture of one of my light blue iris. Hope I get back home before all the pink ones bloom.
After two days, this is the best picture of my three year old twin granddaughters that I could get. They don't like to sit still for anything, much less pictures! These are the girls I made the dresses for. I think they would look cute in them, but they weren't interested in trying them on. They are independent thinkers already.
We had a good time with all our company. We had six children here on Thursday that were three and under. I tried to get a picture of all of them, but that was impossible. They played pretty good together. It was too cold and rainy for them to be outside. Grandpa did take some of them for a tractor ride.
On Friday night, we all went to our youngest daughter's wedding reception. She had gotten married in Hawaii in November. I tried taking a lot of pictures, but most of them didn't turn out very good. I changed the mode on my camera to night time to take a picture of a fountain with colored lights, then forgot to change it. The shutter was open too long for all the rest of my pictures. Some of them are rather interesting in a weird sort of way. I'll post one or two of them anyway.
I have a whole set of pictures with light streaks now. Looks like some kind of weird light show.
I stayed in the city on Saturday so I could take care of my youngest baby while his mom worked and took at nap. Everyone else went to the zoo. It was a beautiful day.
I was wiped out yesterday. Had a headache all day. It wasn't that it hurt that bad; it made me dizzy, kind of like being seasick. I was still tired this afternoon. Guess I'm too old to be a party girl!
We had a sprinkle of rain this morning, then sunshine this afternoon. I took a few more pictures of dandeloins, iris, bugs, and some pretty little white flowers that I don't know the name of. I'll post a picture to see if anyone can help me out!
Here are my mystery flowers. Does anyone know what their name is? They are bulbs that come back every year. They bloom at the same time the iris do. I am forever digging them up after they die down so they have gotten scattered all over my flower bed.
I feel like I haven't quilted forever. I cleaned up my sewing area and put everything away before the girls got here and I haven't felt good enough to get it out yet. I did a couple of loads of laundry today, including washing all of my spring sweaters. I laid them out of the table on the porch to dry, but they were still damp this evening, so I covered them up with a sheet in case the cat decided they looked like a good place to sleep.
I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. I have to get a huge filling because I can't afford a crown right now. Oh, well. The filling may last as long as I do! LOL
