Here are my entries for Photo Quest #18 - black and white. I enjoyed the challenge once I figured out how to take black and white shots with my camera.
This landscape is just to the east of my house. I'm standing under a huge sycamore tree in my yard at about 7:30 tonight.
Here are some grass seeds leaning through the fence.
I really like this old wooden fence post in black and white.
Here's the same fence post as in #3, this time looking to the north through the barbed wire fence. Clouds were starting to move in from the west.
The same fence post, this time looking to the west. The sun was streaming through a break in the clouds.
Another shot of the sunset, this time through the trees in our windbreak.
I have one more shot that I wanted to enter, but I can't get it to load. As I was walking back to the house, a small bird flew into the crabapple tree and started chirping. I actually got a picture of him with his beak open. Oh, well...
Here's my bird. It was getting rather dark by this time.
I had lost my connection to the internet.
Here's a picture of "Papa" with his one year old twins. Their birthday was April 26th. We went to their house yesterday for their birthday party. We also celebrated their big brother's birthday; he will be three next Sunday. It was rather cool, but most of the kids went outside to play. The babies wanted to go out, too, but we kept them entertained in the house. They are wearing outfits that their other grandma made for them. Very cute!
Here's the white picket fence that we all have been working on for a couple of weeks now. It really looks nice, and it is nice to know that the little kids can go out to play and will stay in the yard. The landscaping is the next big project. They were working on the gates today. They want a small walk thru gate on each side of the house, plus a large gate that you can drive thru on the garage side.
It has been beautiful here today. I went out and hoed my radishes again. There is a little bit of spinach coming out, but very little. No sign of the beans or beets. I used old seed, so may have to replant.
We had frost again this morning. It was 34 degrees when I got up. I took a chance and didn't bring my plants in last night. It looks like they all survived.
I added a border to the yellow and white baby blanket this afternoon. It didn't look quite finished. I took some more pictures, so now I need to edit my Etsy listing.
I started loading some of my pictures from yesterday up to Snapfish, but it takes 6 minutes for each picture to load. Wish my computer was faster! Guess I should be thankful to have a computer at all.
I'm trying to work on my compositions for my photographs for my Country By Design items on Etsy. The lighting wasn't very good. I may have to try moving the antique wash stand to a different wall. I do like the dark red background. The off-white paper is a print from a picture that my cousin made. Don't know if it should be in the picture or not.
I think I like this one with the candle better.
I had a busy day yesterday. Had a dentist appointment in the morning. Will have to go back to get a huge filling. I really need a crown, but can't afford it.
We spent the rest of the day at our son's house working on his fence. He is making a white picket fence with short wide boards. I didn't have to paint, but I wish I had a nickel for every board I moved yesterday. I had to line them up and get them ready to be painted, then move them out of the way after they got dry. When I got caught up, I helped entertain the kids. After Stephen got home from work, I started moving boards out to the fence so he could nail and screw them in place. We got the long straight stretch behind his house finished about dark last night. It was almost 9:00 when we got home. I checked my email and fell into bed. I'll take a picture on Saturday. It really looks nice.
